This track, Udon (Julio Bashmore Sax Dub), by Parisian ghetto house duo High Powered Boys is the song in my heart these days. Love everything about it. The sax is sex and sexy and amazing. Haven't posted in a while...may get back into the groove soon enough.
What a time this past 60 days has been. Floods. Workplace chaos. Wobbly knees and needs AND confessions of love to someone who cannot use it or needs it. Came across this song while looking for more music by Georgia Anne Muldrow. The track is somehow light yet heavy with funk. Make Me Stronger by Bei Bei Ft Georgia Anne Muldrow (Floating Points Remix).
the library where i work at was flooded the first week of August. the water destoryed the infostructure of the building and the organizational system as well. so much has happended that i realize I need to leave. i have worked here 16 years. we are in the middle of a jobless recovery...but i have to believe there is something better than this. Something i hearing/feeling as i ponder my next move ARE YOU GOING WITH ME? by the Pat Metheny Group.
Last Tuesday 6ft of rain come down in less than an hour here in Louisville, flooded the library, causing over $5 million dollars worth of damage. Times are not pleasant....things could have been worse. I shall send out onto the aural altar a positive vibe. Rufus featuring Chaka Khan...the song WALKING IN THE SUN. What a long seven days this has been.
She, the mother, ate all 5 peaches in less than 2 days. so I headed out today before work for more peaches. i may or may not share. i will THINK TWICE before bringing and leaving any unguarded fruit in my home. this jazz soul track has been running track in mind. THINK TWICE by Donald Byrd.
i have neeeded some aural balm. after what i have experienced these past 10 days--i shall serve some whine with this cheese. someone stole my mother’s 1981 Fleetwood Cadillac. they returned it….wrecked, trashed with the back tires and rims removed. this song has been my comfort. first heard on a compilation by Gilles Peterson. he only used about 2 minutes of a 5 minute masterpiece. still trying to figure out why??? either way…here is my soul balm…for weary times… Bob [Edu K Remix]by Otto featuring Bebel Gilberto.
SAX. Good sax is not Bleeding Gums or his protege Lisa Simpson. It's not Tricky Dick Bill Clinton on the Aresino Hall Show. It's this song JUST CAN'T GIVE YOU UP from Mystic Merlin...circa 1980. This is the good goody.
homeward bound for the weekend. hear this track and my mind and soul travel. it's exotic, erotic AND slightly overwrought BUT it works all the same. don't know portuguese...but the translation at altavista suggests something to do with eyes, night, roses and joy. i shall endeavour to spend the weekend pondering what Jorge Ben is saying in this song Oba La Vern Ela.
so I was at home. digging through my stacks of cds. came across this track from a few years back. had forgotten how much I enjoy it. ATFC's THIS? from 1999. on BBE Records.
There's always one or two songs that spend days if not weeks playing on a continual loop in my mind's eye.
This track by Darondo is the groove for right now.
Just digging that 70s soul vybe. Peace.
